Sometimes when you thank a soldier, they completely wave it off. Why? Being a soldier in many cases is a person seeking adventure, trying to find a sense of purpose, or an individual trying to prove something to some one or to one's self. But during that time, a soldier can transform, and it becomes about their brothers in arms by their side or about civilians in front of them. Is it heroism or human nature? The Love of Fury captures this. But on the other side of a battlefield, our adversaries have their motivations, their history, and their story that drives them, too. And so intertwines our lives in our contest of flesh and wills between human beings. The Love of Fury captures this too. And it is because of this realism that "life" happens and gets in the way of war, that I found this to be a fantastically original novel capturing those who wittingly or unwittingly are placed in the crosshairs of combat and the blend of humanity and inhumanity that ensues. Great story of stories to remind us that in many ways we are the same but we differ based on our circumstances.Product details

The Love of Fury A World of Fury Book 1 edition by Jacob Alan Richmond Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I am not as good with words as this author, but I can tell you that from the very first page, I was hooked. It was gripping and thrilling. The reader is taken on quite an adventure into the world of war, conflict and family love and loyalty.
This is the first in a series, and I can hardly wait for the next one.
A reader will not require any particular background to become fully immersed in these pages. At its core, this is an ugly snapshot of war seen from two opposite and seemingly inconsistent perspectives. The author's true talent may be empathy, and we share his gift through the sincere, detailed writing. You will get a genuine impression of the imperfection of a hero and the humanity of a villain. This novel allows you to walk a mile in the enemy's shoes, which is a painful, invaluable lesson.
As a civilian with no military background who works with military folks, this book gives great insight into what it's like to be a service member and part of a military family. It mentions a lot of the things that are military jargon that many civilians wouldn't understand. But again, as someone who has learned many of those things and terms over the years, the book explains them as if it was written for civilians. Which is great - military folks know what's happening, and civilians will understand (and possibly learn) too.
The book details the mind of a warrior and the woman who falls for him, but it also does a great job of humanizing the enemy. In a world filled with terrorist cells, we don't often get to see things from their perspectives. It was nice to see both perspectives.
Great work by an insightful author!
This was the first in the series, and I truly hope they keep coming! Sgt Percy Mackenzie try's to become and Air Force P.J. ( pararescue jumper). With days to go he destroys his ankle in training. No more PJ even though his trainers thought he was one of the best to come through the program. It's hard to tell more of the story without spoiling the story. There's terrorist, USAF Thunderbirds, and a Medal of Honor. Let's just say, if you like this genre, BUY IT, You will not be disappointed !!
This is hands down the most HUMAN military-themed book I have ever read. It isn't just a story about a soldier on a mission; it's real. The emotions of the characters are so effortlessly portrayed that their pain, fear, anger and joy are felt by the reader. I found myself in tears one moment, and laughing out loud the next. I would describe this book as action-packed, substantial, and heart-rending. It was hard to put down. I will be anxiously awaiting more books by this author!
Like intense and fast-paced reads? This one is just that and more. Not only does this book flow quickly, Richmond is able to move you through the story without having to edit out those little details that cause the reader to identify with the subjects. You can feel your heart race along with the characters in the book; but, this isn't just another action-packed military story. "The Love of Fury" has taken the human side our self-identified roles of good and evil and turned them upside down. For me, I finished this book and found myself taking a personal inventory of what I thought of as our modern "good guy vs. bad guy." Hands down the best book I've read in a long time! And the ending is...(*hint* G-R-E-A-T)
This is a real good military action-thriller with a fast-paced plot. What sets it apart from many others in the genre is that it provides more than a simple black-and-white, good-vs-evil contest between the protagonist and antagonist. Another plus the "hero" finds himself in perhaps the unlikeliest military career field in which to square off against the bad guys, which adds an interesting flavor to the entire saga, yet the improbability of it is handled terrifically and doesn't diminish the legitimacy of the action. Plus, the characters seem real -- not cookie-cutter. There are some real good action sequences with plenty of tension, and the author writes in an easy-to-read style... no clutter or clumsiness. Highly recommended book.
